CROSS-PLATFORM MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT THROUGH XAMARIN

Clink I.T. Solutions has been in the business of making Xamarin apps as early as 2014. Our very first Xamarin application, The Crowd's Line, has been a huge success with over a thousand downloads and active users in iOS and Android.

What is Xamarin?
Xamarin is the standard for enterprise mobile development. No other platform enables businesses to reach all major devices for iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows with 100 percent fully native apps from a single codebase. With Xamarin, businesses standardize mobile app development in C#, share an average 75% of source code across platforms, and take advantage of their existing skills, teams, tools and code to rapidly deliver great apps with broad reach. Xamarin is used by more than a hundred Fortune 500 companies in 120 countries, and has over one million unique developer downloads.

Why Did We Choose Xamarin?

  • Faster time to market. We did not have to write everything twice.
  • Native UI and Native Performance. We were able to access and take advantage of native iOS and Android controls, including performance gains as opposed to making a web app.
  • Short Learning Curve. The The team already had a strong background in .NET / C#. We did not have to context switch between *Objective C / Swift of Java*. There was also a sizeable amount of information on the Xamarin website.
  • Share Application Logic. We were able to share a common API and data models across both platforms.
  • Xamarin Component Store. Xamarin has a huge collection of pre-built components to choose from, such as the Facebook SDK, Google Maps, custom-built navigation UI, and analytics solutions. Sample code is provided so developers can easily integrate components with their existing project.
  • Ability to Bind Native Libraries. There were occasions wherein components written in Java or Objective-C / Swift were already available, but C# versions were not. One example is Mixpanel, a popular marketing and analytics tool. Xamarin allowed us to bind the Mixpanel library with Xamarin.iOS ourselves so we could use the service. We did not have to wait for updates from the developers or from Xamarin.

Cross platform development just got a LOT cheaper.
After being acquired by Microsoft last February 2016, Xamarin is now FREE with Visual Studio. Simply download Xamarin and start building amazing, native mobile apps using familiar tools and C#.

If you want to take advantage of the many benefits of Xamarin but software development isn't your core business, you're in luck. Clink IT's engineers have been developing Xamarin apps since 2014, and are one of the few companies in the Philippines with such strong expertise. We have significant experience in developing on Xamarin.iOS, Xamarin.Android and Xamarin Forms gained by creating complex mobile applications for serious clients. We don't just create apps. We create entire software solutions. Here's just one example of how we used Xamarin along with other Microsoft technologies to create an entire ecosystem of apps.
